Last Friday the YA Health Committee had a chance to question Department of Health Officials. After the meeting we asked Gavin Quinn, Acting Director of Mental Health why it’s important that young people help to co-design and develop mental health services for children and young people.

After Friday's event we asked Chief Commissioner for NIHRC about what actions government departments and other policy makers can take to ensure that the Youth Assembly has its voice heard.

Very enjoyable afternoon watching the last plenary session of the Northern Ireland Youth Assembly. It’s been great to be able engage with these young people as they push for the changes they want to see in NI. They need a stable functioning democratic system to work in ! Well done guys ! 👏

Our time on the YA has been an incredible experience, we’re so thrilled that we got the chance to participate and make the voice of young people heard.
