This World Water Day, we must address the crucial nexus of women and water.

Women and girls disproportionately bear the burden of the water and sanitation crisis.

IFRC will prioritize inclusive WASH programs to ensure no one is left behind.

If we do nothing, heatwaves like this will occur every two years in Western Africa.

One of the main pillars of IFRC Global Climate Resilience Platform is Early Warning - which include simple awareness campaigns - that can save lives during a heatwave.

Another inspiring day with the Donor Advisory Group (DAG) at Chiwenga Primary School in Zimbabwe. Thanks to the collaboration between Zimbabwe Red Cross and Suomen Punainen Risti, a new classroom block stands tall. This model, set by Zimbabwe Red Cross, is now the benchmark for building school blocks.

At #COP28 , @IFRC unveiled the IFRC Reclaimed Table, a table built from debris from climate disasters.

It shows the reality of climate impacts on people today - but if we prepare communities - extreme weather doesn't have to become a disaster.

Water insecurity is a fundamental threat to human health, peace and security.

It is also an opportunity for collaboration and peace.

Happy to moderate a high level panel at @COP28 to discuss this.

The theme on the agenda at #COP28 today is water.

The @IFRC network is part of an incredible partnership with UNDRR and World Meteorological Organization that seeks to help communities adapt to a changing climate, through early warning, early action and integrated water resource management.

IFRC led the way by being the first organisation to commit to SHE Changes Climate Pledge to at least 50% female participation in climate negotiations and COP delegations. At COP28 we are at 65%.

We cannot protect people from the climate crisis without protecting nature.

Today I spoke at #COP28 with WWF on how we are implementing nature-based solutions to reduce disaster risk.

We're starting in 15 countries to build resilience of people and nature by 2026.
