I've been working hard with Malcolm Noonan T.D. to get a biodiversity officer for #Clare so people have access to expert advice on same and @clarecountycouncil can be guided in best practise around protecting and increasing biodiversity in our county #GreensInGoverment

A Vacant Homes Tax is introduced in this Budget.
We cannot leave so many houses vacant while so many need homes.
This is a good start to activate vacancy and encourage refurb, sale or rent of an empty house.
This makes sense, more to do on dereliction too.

The €1 billion investment in childcare secured by Roderic O’Gorman TD in #Budget2023 will see a saving for families of up to €2,100 per child.
This package is designed to ease the significant burden of #childcare costs for families, and provide access to more childcare places.
Green Party Ireland are leading the Solar Rooftop Revolution. We are helping schools with electricity costs by funding solar panels on every school roof in #Budget2023
Schools can sell unused electricity back to grid too.
It makes sense.

📢 As of January 2023, childcare fees will be reduced by 25%, as part of a €1bn investment in childcare.
This means that parents, on average, will save €1,200 per child per year, up to a maximum of €2,100.
#Budget2023
The target for spending on childcare was €1bn by 2028. With #Budget2023Ireland we have smashed through that barrier five years earlier than originally planned thanks to the efforts of my Green Party Ireland colleague Roderic O’Gorman TD.
With Green Party Ireland ministers, you get fresh ideas, new funding, and real change.
