The Red Ensign — the flag that the Newfoundland Unknown Soldier fought under — follows him home today.

It was lowered and folded by Frank Sullivan and Berkeley Lawrence of the Royal Canadian Legion Newfoundland Command.

Today we reflect on the Battle of Ypres that occurred between April 22 and May 25, 1915. Facing the first poisonous gas attack of the war, Canadian Troops helped hold the line against the German military.
