Today is #WorldSickleCellDay . The INTO raised nearly €68k through the Members’ Draw in aid of Children's Health Foundation research into the disease which causes severe symptoms in children such as delayed growth, stroke and life-long organ damage.

We agree - much of the burden for evidence generation in support of #NBS should be performed at EU level. Almost 4 years of NSAC & only ADA-SCID has been added to panel HSE Ireland. Ireland now ranks 23rd in Europe. In 2020 we were 20th.

Monday 19th June is World Sickle Cell Day! This year we focus on the urgent need for unity & togetherness as we encourage more ethnically matched blood donors to save lives of #Sicklecellpatients dependent on frequent blood transfusions through our #changetherecords campaign.
