Well we don't have to figure it out tonight. I hope everyone has a relaxing, smokeless, happy and healthy summer. We will be back on the Wednesday after labour day

I think that discussing this tonight is helping a bit. I also think that taking our normal 2 months off during summer will give us time to think about the future of and bring those ideas back in September.

I will say that one of the things that has never materialized was more wineries getting on . Even if they are not regulars but jumping in and out periodically--but that has just not happened

Sandra Oldfield Paul Rickett No kidding! I truly appreciate all the time and effort. I have learned so much and met so many interesting people that I am definitely beholden to

I am wondering how many of the wineries, affected by the vine die off, will be able to survive. The book I mentioned talks about the horrible harvests in 1939- Here is something for you, Paul. Not just due to the harvest but problems with production. There’s a drop!

Sandra Oldfield Yes, we would have to buy less. I’ve already seen increases of $5-10 per bottle over the last couple years from some wineries which was a significant increase. Finding values is becoming more difficult and would lead to possibly looking elsewhere.

Sandra Oldfield That is hard! Maybe the Orange Muscat from Lakeside Cellars because it is different? Meyer’s Anarchist Mountain Dekleva Chardonnay? So many variables in that question! (no reds at the moment as it is warm)

I'm embarrassed to say that I've been away for over a month and cannot remember the last great BC wine I drank before that. But I have been rocking the espresso martinis lately
