Here’s the real milestone: The first $1.6 million worth of tax dollars has been drained away from public school students and handed over to private schools.

Our public tax dollars belong in our public schools.

There’s nothing political about making sure children get fed in the summer months, a time when kids aren’t getting regular meals at school.

But it sure looks political when the administration consistently makes it harder for some families to get help.

It feels like Gov. Bill Lee won’t do what’s right for kids without being pressured.

Last year, the admin dragged its feet on distributing summer food assistance to students. This year, they didn’t even apply for the funds until the news asked about it.

Politicians shouldn't intrude on a woman or family's most personal decisions and no one has the right to use government to impose their religious beliefs on somebody else.

As long as Tennessee teacher pay is falling behind the cost of living, the governor’s hollow words about “supporting teachers” are just another insult.

Investing in schools for our kids is investing in Tennessee’s future.

So let’s show some respect and stop screwing over their teachers.

We get nowhere fast if our kids are left without professionals who can deliver a first-class education.

Sen. Lamar had a bill this year that sought to treat gun violence as a public health crisis. Would have required/recommended data sharing between police and TDH, deescalation/violence interruption in schools, resources for DV survivors and a jobs program. GOP killed it

Our sad wage policies in this state are denying families the freedom to live full lives.
