Van tonight after the Turkish authorities refused to recognize the landslide victory of the DEM Party candidate for mayor and have installed the AKP's candidate.

This place in Amûdê, Rojava, was my elementary school for 6 yrs. Under the Ba’ath, it was then named after “Ammar Bin Yasir,” a major Muslim commander. Under Kurdish rule, it is now called “Musa Anter,” a prominent Kurdish journalist assassinated in Diyarbakir, Turkey, in 1992.
