To put it in perspective, SCHOOLS teach for 39 weeks.

But a huge chunk of the business of universities is research. Teaching is statutorily meant to be research-led. When is that research going to happen?

Essex UCU They tried this at several uni’s in Australia and the outcomes haven’t been great. UNSW looks like it’s going to revert to the two semester model. UNE are seriously considering what do with their third semester as retention is such an issue. This solution is not working for other
