University of Glasgow management should condemn the German government and extend support to Dr Ghassan.

UCU Glasgow is extremely concerned by reports that Ghassan Abu Sitta is being refused entry to Germany and urge the University and Anton Muscatelli to extend all available support to him

We congratulate the newly elected rector Ghassan Abu Sitta and are looking forward to working together on a range of issues that concern staff and students including opposing the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Today, our secretary Vladimir Unkovski-Korica met Ghassan Abu-Sittah, candidate for University of Glasgow Rector, at the JMS. We would love to see other candidates visit campus and talk to staff and students.

At our General Meeting last week, we passed a motion of solidarity with Muhammad and written to the University of Stirling about the situation.

Striking workers at the Royal Society of Arts are calling on fellows, guests, politicians and unions to boycott the RSA.

This branch pledges to support the boycott until the dispute is resolved and the RSA is saved from the incompetence of its current leadership.

UCUG is concerned by reports this morning of heavy-handed tactics to end the student sit-in at 11 University Gardens. We support the right to protest and support the demand for divestment from the arms industry. We call for an amicable resolution to the situation.
