However, the mix is not legally binding and the quality control standards for composts using the 'John Innes' name varies considerably.
If the government wants us to go peat-free, it must ensure the quality of the mixes on offer to the public.

I got some that had bits of old rotting fence and plastic in it.
The original range of John Innes composts were originally scientifically developed in the 1930s at the John Innes Horticultural Research Institute.

The meadow is awash with cowslips. Set off beautifully by the newly laid hedge expertly laid by Matt Oliver this winter.
