POTUS has no official role in the 1/6 count. When a candidate pressures/threatens the President of the Senate (Pence), pressures and lobbies state legislatures & members of Congress, and oversees a fraudulent elector scheme, his acts are private. And plotting to appoint an AG in…

Speaking out against the criminalization of the practice of medicine is not politics. It's stewardship of the physician patient relationship. It is part of my job.

Don't shy away from giving patients bad news- false hope is worse. Offer honest assessment of prognosis + options -> together make a plan. End with a promise: you will still be their doc even if you can't fix their disease.

Bad: See the cardiologist for an angiogram.

Good: See the cardiologist to decide the next best step for your symptoms.

Don't paint the consultant into a corner- allow them to use their expertise to chart the right course for the patient!

Cringe-worthy chart phrases:

“Avoid nephrotoxins” (w/o adding relevant ones)
“Lungs clear. No crackles.” (redundant)
“Pt has leg swelling x3d”… exam: “no edema.” (inconsistent)
“Consider XYZ” (w/o saying why or why not)

🧵regarding the 'rapidly absorbable' sutures, which are used less often than other suture types, but fill specific roles in a number of different surgical specialties.

We'll go over the uses of (and differences between) Chromic, plain gut, 'fast' gut, and Vicryl Rapide.
