As Rebecca fights for her life, we can’t be assured she will ever get justice. Agnes Tirop, a global athletics star was gruesomely murdered in 2021, her husband, the main suspect is yet to be charged. He was released on bail in Dec last year.

“I also came away from the experience thinking, ‘OK, I don’t need the Olympics to know I’ve had a good career or that I’m happy doing what I’m doing.’ ...There’s plenty more fish in the sea out there when it comes to races.” –Jessica McClain msn.com/en-us/sports/o…

Unpleasant truth - 🇰🇪 athletics has a problem. It is a breeding scene for domestic violence and GBV. Too many untold cases of abuse and exploitation. We hope Rebecca Cheptegei's horrific & untimely death won't be another statistic like Tirop, Damaris etc. Will justice prevail?

Under qualified men are scouting for women with potential in running kenyan towns, they come in, over free financial help & coaching/pacing, then marry them, when she succeeds he controls her & all her $$, eventually she wants to leave, thats when they meet death, lots of victims

Georgia Griffith put up a good fight, pacing Beatrice Chebet for 6+ minutes, but it's not easy running 5,000m world record pace. The ideal was for her to go through 3K at PR pace, and that's not easy to do when you're the pacer.
