Magnífic llibre de Andrew Leland sobre el camí de la visió parcial a la ceguesa. Un assaig brillant, documentadíssim i commovedor que hauríem de traduir urgentment al català. Via Penguin Random House 🐧🏠📚 Penguin Llibres

Since its release in February, a lot of people (including, e.g., Kevin Roose this past Tuesday) have wondered what (and who) the Vision Pro -- Apple's swanky new mixed-reality headset -- is for. For @nymag Intelligencer, I found an answer! nymag.com/intelligencer/…

As I zipped through Andrew Leland's The Country of the Blind, , some things halted me in my tracks, as a fellow blind person - moments of hilarity and recognition and communion. Andrew Leland I hope you don't mind me sharing quotes. 2/n

The The Wall Street Journal today fired my former colleague for STANDING UP for press freedom. Words cannot describe how twisted & abhorrent this is, at a time when journalists around the world are being intimidated, detained & killed into silence. In awe of Selina's bravery, strength & leadership.

While we're talking about journalists on the disability beat working at the top of their game, has anyone else noticed the unbroken chain of superb (ok fine I can't resist: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥) reporting from Julia Métraux at @motherjones?? all hits!!

Resurfacing this NY Times article about coming up with a name sign for our VP Harris, who is now running for the presidency nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Editorializing a little, I think my main takeaway from reporting this out is that there is *a ton* of energy from disabled Democrats and other left-leaning disabled folks that has been left on the table by the Biden campaign. Harris campaign is hiring to change that right now.

One of the best books I read last year was Andrew Leland’s The Country of the Blind, which was recently nominated as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. I got to interview Andrew recently. Enjoy reading part of our conversation at Nursing Clio! nursingclio.org/2024/08/14/dis…

I sort of have to love the irony of writing a whole article about the focus on accessibility at #DNC2024 and then I can’t actually understand a lot of what people are saying on the disability caucus stream because captions are unavailable.

A beautiful piece about Joshua Roman's battle with #LongCovid from Pam Belluck in the The New York Times this weekend. I am humbled by how Joshua has created transcendent art through adversity, but his work is also a constant reminder of the need for LC action NOW. nytimes.com/2024/08/17/hea…
