First New Town Design: A missed opportunity to create spaces with greenery and much wider pavements where cars are guests - like every other major European capital? Where are the trees, bollards, seats and sustainable drainage? Lessons not being learned fast enough. 🧵

“How are we supposed to get into town?” Bus. Tram. Train. Park & Ride. Coach. Cycle. Taxi. Walk. Like the c40% of Edinburgh households that don’t have access to a vehicle and many households that do but don’t drive into town. Leaving space for those that don’t have any option.

Honestly, the amount of people using vehicles that are too big to pick up some milk! 🙄 😜 (An added benefit is though that you can help fund our eCargobike and Community Tool Library by shopping Co-op and selecting SW20 as your local good cause!)

I'm seeing some claims floating about here that the Scottish Government has "banned" woodburning / biomass heating. This isn't true. I've seen people worried by these claims, thinking they'll be forced to rip out their woodburner! No, you won't.
