⚠️ UN Climate Change puts severe participation restrictions for NGOs at 1st #LossAndDamage Fund Board meeting ⚠️

'Space constraints' argument is unconvincing & no virtual modalities are provided.

This is even more outrageous as observer participation is one of the agenda points.

The #LossAndDamage Fund is about people & should be driven by them.

These restrictions are unacceptable given broad recognition in the Transitional Committee that enhanced participation modalities are essential.

Calling on all Board members to intervene & #OpenUpTheLDF

5⃣Matters relating to the operationalization of the Fund as a World Bank hosted Financial Intermediary Fund;

6⃣Arrangements for observer participation in the Board meetings;

2⃣Work plan of the Board;

3⃣Additional rules of procedure of the Board;

It has been an amazing regional conference on L&D. The key ask of the conference was simple, how do we ensure modalities around the fund, and the technical capacity is accessible for all, even at the grassroot level, while enhancing coordination.
