I'm sure this book will end with hope and positivity but I'm half way through and it makes for horrific reading. We really are sleepwalking into insect apocalypse. Even with me being pretty insect and environmentally aware, this great book is still hitting me hard 😭 Oliver Milman

Up until a few weeks ago, I had never seen a Holly Blue #butterfly in my garden. And today I watched a pair flitting around, & then the female laying eggs on the #Ivy A wonderful new addition to my wildlife garden.

Two of my favourite plants for #wildflowerhour #DaisyFamily. Bottom Blue Fleabane & top Carline Thistle which was once known as ‘boar’s throat’ because the prickly flowers were thought to resemble the rough hair around a boar’s neck 🐗 I prefer my name of ‘jam tart plant’!😉😄

Just found this fabulous beastie in my garden! A Speckled Bush-cricket I believe. Now safely moved into my no mow area, just shows what can be achieved by growing wildflowers in your garden! 🥰💚

This mixed hedgerow, laden with haws, sloes and berries, is helping to support a small flock of UK Red-Listed House Sparrows, great to see! #fruits #wildflowerhour
