#AltonWatermill Steel rings hold the axletree fixings in place. Heated to cherry red they expand and are hammered in place like a Blacksmith tyring a wagon wheel. It takes seconds but can scorch the timber before drenching in cold water to contract #NationalLotteryHeritageFund

We enjoyed four busy baking sessions at the MuseumEALife recently. A group of women made recipes including Afghani bolani, Iranian nan berberi, Turkish yoghurt soup, cinnamon buns & more, with delicious results! Thanks to the museum for their hospitality & baking expertise! 🫓🍞
