Lots more nest activity this week with 4 ringed plover nests now actively underway and lots more pairs scraping. Perhaps even more exciting is the Little Terns beginning scraping! This time next week we could well have ringed plover chicks on the ground, stay tuned!🤞🏻🐥

Not the busiest day at Gib Point but still some bits around. A brief Wood Sandpiper and a flyover Woodlark, 3 Spoonbill, 2 Whoopers and the first big emergence of Dragonflies and Damsels. Moth trap quiet this AM but always tomorrow 🤞🏻 LWT Wild News

This Great White Egret wasn't a heron species I was particularly hoping for at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR this morning, but I think it's the first I've seen on patch in breeding attire. Not much else going on.... RareBirdAlertUK

A pleasure to be involved in the Lincsbirding guided walk lead by Richard Doan at Gib Point this morning, 64 species for me before I had to leave, this Little Gull the pick of the bunch with 2 Whoopers and 2 Spoonbills. Then a Turtle Dove flew south along ED at 16:15!

It’s now been over a week since our first nest was found and it’s still going strong. Both adults still regularly taking turns on the nest throughout the day. All being well we should see our first fledglings in the third week of May 🤞🏻

One of the finest pleasures in life. Walking in the fragrance of Hawthorn on a warm (at last!) May afternoon serenaded by Turtle Dove, Cuckoo and a suite of warblers. At Rimac, Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR. With Andrew C Sims and Chris Grimshaw
