This Great White Egret wasn't a heron species I was particularly hoping for at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR this morning, but I think it's the first I've seen on patch in breeding attire. Not much else going on.... RareBirdAlertUK
A day of black terns passing through the country and the Lincs Wildlife Trust reserves were included with one at Far Ings and six at Deeping Lakes.
A pleasure to be involved in the Lincsbirding guided walk lead by Richard Doan at Gib Point this morning, 64 species for me before I had to leave, this Little Gull the pick of the bunch with 2 Whoopers and 2 Spoonbills. Then a Turtle Dove flew south along ED at 16:15!
It’s now been over a week since our first nest was found and it’s still going strong. Both adults still regularly taking turns on the nest throughout the day. All being well we should see our first fledglings in the third week of May 🤞🏻
