5+ years ago, after years of urban biking leadership in both cities, there was a serious debate about whether Montreal or Vancouver was the best biking city in North America. Sadly it’s no longer a debate. Under Mayor Valérie Plante Montreal has sprinted while Vancouver has crawled.

Never forget, a 13-year study of a dozen cities found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. As for sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. V/Streetsblog USA usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/29/pro…
