Yesterday we saw our first Red Kite over the garden, plus what we suspect was a comorant.

This morning, the other half saw a Kingfisher on the Derwent for only the 3rd time.

Mossy Lea, my 1st Spotted Flycatcher of 2024. Barn Owl first thing. 11 Willow & 2 Garden Warbler. 14 Sand Martin & 6 Swallow. 1 Cuckoo, 11 Lapwing, 9 Curlew, 6 Meadow Pipit, 5 Skylark & 2 Red Grouse. 1 Common Sandpiper down river. 3 Grey Wagtail inc 1 fledgling.

After yesterday's rain was looking at its leafy freshest in the sun this AM - singing Reed Bunting, 2 Red Kite, Whitethroat (3), Skylark (3) & Nuthatch (3) the pick of a quiet bird day. Lots of lovely Green-veined Whites on the wing Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) Butterfly Conservation 🦋
