Unplanned visit to RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands and it was great. Great views of female Scaup. Garganey and Ruddy Shelduck. Loads of Warblers, Bar-tailed Godwits, Marsh Harriers. Avocets with chicks. Brimming with life!
Enjoyable visit to RSPB Ribble Estuary #Marshside today. Good views of a Curlew Sandpiper. Some dozing Black-tailed Godwits and a snoozing Whimbrel. Site is alive with all sorts of birds just now!
Back home briefly #whitleybay some lovely Grey Partridge near the lighthouse. Very distant Fulmars canoodling near Hartley. Good to see them still nesting innthe same site as when I grew up! Eiders, Red-throated Diver, Sanderling and more

Midnight in Bilbao after #Lagabarra2024 Got up this morning and it's been cleaned up. Fantastic work!
As a Newcastle United FC fan, I like to think the fan base is great (it is). However, Athletic Club is on another level. The whole region seemed to be lining miles of river, on roofs, hanging out of windows. All in colours. No club in the UK could raise this level of hysteria #Gabarra2024
Crowds building in Bilbao for river barge victory parade of Athletic Club Still 7 hours until team arrives! Proper football mad city. Great atmosphere
