These other-worldly sounds are #Nightjars 🌙Males sing with an ethereal 'churring', coupled with spectacular wing-clapping & far-travelling calls.

This week we spent an evening with these magnificent migrants. *Please excuse the language* 🤭

Lovely to show members of the North East Rewilding Network around #WildOuseburn yesterday. A spectacular encounter with a hunting Peregrine was a fitting welcome 👌

I was in AWE watching this handsome chap gather nest materials in #Ouseburn on Friday😍

Male Three-spined Sticklebacks entice females to nests, who lay 400 eggs for him to fertilise, defend & carefully rear.

The rest from grazing is also allowing the farm's grasslands to put on a fine display. Where the soils are thin, beautiful miniature carpets of Dove's Foot Cranesbill, Sheep's Sorrell, Speedwells, Spring Sedge and Lesser Trefoil are flourishing.

Red Squirrel adults and kittens have been scampering amongst Bluebells, alongside an array of woodland birds, whilst Pied Flycatchers, Redstart & Cuckoo have joined the summer chorus 🎶

A really exciting sighting in #WildOuseburn by Michael! 😍 We're looking forward to some urban moth trapping this year area to bump up records for these magnificent nocturnal pollinators.
