Less than two weeks now to the local and european elections on June 7th. Interesting how it looks in the latest polls, which are no more than a question in a moment in time to a small group of randomers. Let's not forget 2020, when the outcome of the election defied all polls.

On Night Time Talk tonight at 9pm Ireland's Classic Hits, Sinn Féin Leader Mary Lou McDonald will be joining me to discuss the issues her party candidates are hearing about on the doorsteps, including housing, health, cost of living, and immigration, ahead of the June 7th elections.

Next week's elections are already becoming buried in a mire of the usual political rhetoric and bullshit that manifests ahead of election day - that sense of frustration that makes voters stay away from casting their votes because they see it all as worthless. A long week to go.

Serious queston: Isn't there a huge difference between voting out a government, and voting in a bunch of individuals who couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery; people who are promising us that our country would be better served in their hands even though they've no experience?

On Night time Talk last week Ireland's Classic Hits, all the main parties were invited on ahead of June 7th. Micheál Martin Holly Cairns TD Eamon Ryan turned down the invite. Simon Harris TD and Ivana Bacik have yet to reply. Just to confirm.

Hearing words like 'traitor' and 'patriot' a lot in recent weeks ahead of this elections. That's just self sabotage and subterfuge. Same has resulted in the death of democracy in the US. If we allow it here, we're doomed. We must protect our country against anarchy at all costs.

We have forgotten how to protect ourselves, and our personal interests in this forthcoming election. We are now in danger of allowing a small bunch of dangerous bullies to dictate to us how we should vote on issues that mean more to them than they do to us

Good to share this space with like-minded people. Ask yourself ahead of next Friday's elections what you want, and then look to who best offers that sense of duty to you. Don't listen to individuals who claim that a hard line approach benefits. It doesn't. Trust me on that one.
