We are going for wet & dry Nosterfield Nature Reserve habitat creation nursery. We've plenty of Great Water Dock (Rumex hydrolapathum) for the fen. Dropwort (Filipendula vulgaris) from seed collected from Thornborough middle Henge is coming into flower & will be returned to the Henge.
Bit late for wildflowerhour & only 1 tiny Cowslip for #cowslipchallenge , but Primrose & the hybrid False Oxlip.
Another 1000+ plants adding to a new wetland area on Pennycroft, part of Heidelberg Materials UK Ripon city quarry restoration. Supplied & planted by vols. fom Nosterfield Nature Reserve specialist nursery. Bringing wetland habitats back to the Ure Valley.
The earliest of High Batts Snowdrops are showing well in pencil bud today. It won't be long before the full display develops. Harrogate District Naturalists’ Society

Another great Muck-in morning yesterday on Pennycroft. Over 400 plants of 5 species from Nosterfield Nature Reserve habitat creation nursery planted. Most of the plants are Great Fen Sedge (Cladium mariscus). Quarries & Nature Hanson UK QLA
Checking that the recently planted Cladium from the habitat creation nursery Nosterfield Nature Reserve survived last week's flooding. The plants seem fine.
Many thanks to Muck-in vols. who started the fen planting on Pennycroft with 300 Great Fen-sedge (Cladium mariscus), grown at the habitat creation nursery Nosterfield Nature Reserve followed by coffee & raking after mowing, on a lovely sunny morning.
A group of 6 of the rare Thistle (or Yorkshire) Broomrape Orobanche reticulata growing on Pennycroft, marked to prevent accidental damage. The flowering stems seem quite short this year, so there may be more we've not spotted yet. Natural England Field Unit 🕷🦗🐸🐌🦇🦉🦊🐍🌿🌳🍄
