The Low Traffic Neighbourhood review referenced a study that found LTNs reduce all injuries by 50% (85% for pedestrians) with no increase on boundary main roads.

Trung Nguyen John Stewart Rich Literally the opposite. Started as an LTN opposer, campaigned and donated money and hassled Jon Burke on a weekly basis but I’ve now had a few years of living in one of the Hackney LTNs, on a boundary road and it’s improved our family’s lives immeasurably.

The massive casualty reduction applies to more recent LTNs as well.
Newer LTNs are saving 3.5 casualties a year in Cowley, and another 4 in East Oxford.

After a hit-and-run driver injured a 4-year-old child, an #Oxford street was turned into a #LowTrafficNeighbourhood .
That was Freelands Road 22 years ago, and there hasn't been a single casualty in that street since.
#LTNs reduce casualties. Simple.
