What can medicine learn from Josh Angrist and colleagues, and the impact of their work on understanding the causal effects of policies, interventions and treatments?

Quite a lot. I wrote a bit about this here.

Cool paper

We have an intuition that 'extrapolation' is less reliable than 'interpolation', which we might define as, 'if it's inside (in the convex hull of) my training data, then it's more reliable'

Well, 'interpolation' probabilistically never happens in high dimensions

TLDR: A new study identifies and measures which large U.S. companies engage in hiring discrimination against Black people.

They name names and find that some of the most discriminatory companies include CVS, Gap, Best Buy, Autozone, and Costco. 🤯
