DSG Amina J Mohammed met with authorities in Port #Sudan on 29 August to discuss the Adre border crossing for aid trucks & draw attention to the crisis in #Sudan. By 30 August, 59 trucks carrying aid supplies had crossed from Chad to Darfur via the Adre border crossing point.

The fighting in #Sudan has surpassed 500 days. Hospitals are shutting down, and life-saving supplies are running out. A ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access is the best way to stop the health crisis worsening.

Last month, Sudan's health workers braved the rains and floods, in addition to an already complex context, with the aim of safeguarding 1.9m + children in five accessible states from #polio. I'm filled with awe at their resilience.
