#BHIVA24 The Positive Voices Survey, such important presentations from UKHSA, Alex Sparrowhawk with the community perspective and Dr Ian Reeves a Clinician Perspective leading powerful discussion, highlighting the value of Collaborative Working and the benefits of good data.

Positive Voices 2022 showed that half of people living with #HIV are struggling w anxiety & depression.

However trans/gender-diverse communities impacted by anxiety & depression much more than other groups.

Fascinating new Institute for Fiscal Studies paper finds that the closure of 70% of police stations in London was not cost effective and led to higher crime levels, with particularly negative impacts on the poor

A nice demonstration of two things:

1) De-funding the police is bad, actually, and results in more crime, disproportionately harming the poor.

2) Short-term cost-saving exercises often end up resulting in negative impacts that cost far more to fix than they initially saved.

New real time suicide data have been released by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities & show a sharp jump in January 2024.

Coming soon after ONS reported higher rates in 2023, this is a concern.

On the other hand, it is a single month figure in a developing dataset.
