Subfamily Fumarioideae was once recognized as a family but now is in . It has an odd, zygomorphic flower with a minimal calyx + nectar spur on 1 or 2 outer petals. Some species are climbers. This is Pseudo-fumaria alba (yes, there’s a hyphen).

While may be in flower now when the flowers form they form fully inside their hosts stem lookin like a bad case of botanical pimples as they push apart their host cells! Pretty horrific! Least these cannot infect us 😳

Ranunculus cortusifolius, a Macaronesian endemic. Huge thing, really attractive. Here in the gloom of Laurel forest near Montaña Pedraje, El Hierro.
