As an LGBTQ+ person in Scotland, the appointment of someone to cabinet who believes that I should not have the same rights as my friends and colleagues because of who I love is terrifying.

If the SNP under Nicola Sturgeon had taken action against the transphobes in their party years ago, I genuinely don't think the SNP or indeed Scotland's LGBT+ population would be facing half the issues we are now.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of trans people, millions of trans people, who you can just ask whether we are happy with our lives. There are countless surveys of trans people about the things that make our lives difficult. Cass isn't evidence based, it's crankery.

What do you do if you’ve started your government review of gender affirming care with the idea that there should be fewer trans people, but you’ve failed repeatedly to find either high regret rates or rising detransition rates? You move the goalposts.

A clear message from the First Minister to Scotland’s LGBTQ+ community right before pride month: “you don’t matter.”

It might be a while before the ramifications of appointing Kate Forbes to DFM kick in but the support of progressives and the LGBT community have been completely taken for granted and the kicking for that is in the post.

Today in Parliament, I raised the urgent need to fix trans healthcare.

This shouldn't be about party politics or ideology, it must be about creating a fairer, more equal Scotland where everyone can access the healthcare and support they need.

Retired paediatrician with apparently no experience treating trans kids, in charge of national report on trans care, seemingly thinks trans youth may stop being trans if we just try conversion therapy, antidepressants & sedatives instead of internationally recommended expert care

This Is why they had to hire someone who knew nothing about trans kids. Antidepressants, anti anxiety meds, and therapy have all been tried. None of them have ever once changed what puberty means for a trans kid
