The #Zambia GBV Assessment contains sobering statistics on the rate of violence experienced by many women, with 36% of women aged 15-49 having experienced physical violence, and 14% having experienced sexual violence.

Gender equality is a precondition for advancing development &reducing poverty in #Zambia . GBV is both a cause & consequence of #gender inequality. Promoting gender equality & empowerment of women is necessary to combat poverty & stimulate sustainable economic development.
