Bernard Hill’s portrayal of Yosser Hughes was one of the most important cultural moments of the 80s. He symbolised the destruction of human dignity by dead-eyed Thatcherism. If only we had the same heft of working class writers and actors now to address today’s inequities. RIP

Dear @bbcnews, I've just been looking at your election results tracker.

It seems Reform won 2 seats.

The Greens won 181 - NINETY times more seats.

Can I assume that from now on we'll see the Greens represented 90 times more often than Reform on your shows?

For balance.

Let's have a look at this, I am reminded so often that most people don't necessarily understand what they are looking at with this industry, so it might be quite interesting to dissect.

We call this a Bridge Strike, when you understand a bit more you can see why they happen 🧵

How many have heard the name “Carla Denyer” on the election coverage last night?

Do you even know who she is?

Well she is the Green Party leader who led her party to 159 council seats so far

Richard Tice has led his party to 2 council seats so far

Which one gets interviews?

It means a nation once proud to stand against the abuse of human rights has surrendered all of its principles for vain political reasons.

This is scheduled to be cut down in . Rumours are that tree’s are felled to satisfy a contract. Activists in Southend have put in 16 freedom of information requests regarding felling of 300+ trees per yr but all answers have come back “commercially sensitive”.
