I've interviewed over 500 asylum seekers along the southwest border over the last year, including in Arizona. They expressed wanting to enter the United States to seek protection at a port of entry.

But U.S. policies restrict their access & drive irregular border crossings. 🧵

Every year, our US-based Advocacy Team represents 100s of clients' applications for work permits. We know how transformative they can be for the individual + the economy. It's a win-win for everyone. Biden must heed the calls to grant work permits!

Our lawsuit against CBP is a pivotal action to safeguard the rights of people with disabilities and to ensure government accountability and transparency.

The right to save one’s life shouldn’t depend on a glitchy app or one’s physical or mental capabilities. Full stop.

Republican-led states are aggressively pushing new anti-immigrant laws under the guise of state safety. These laws aren't meant to protect anyone. They're about striking fear in immigrant communities demonizing them further, but that's the point isn't it?

TPS for Haiti expires on 8/04. We must call on Alejandro Mayorkas to redesignate it now! An upsurge in the already extreme violence in Haiti has left citizens reeling. Famine is looming. Sending ppl back here could be a death sentence. FWD.us HaitianBridge

Every person who comes through the CHNV parole program is sponsored by a US resident who promised to care for them financially, vetted by the government, buys their own ticket here, enters legally, and resides here legally.

Plus, the program is part of a demonstrable success.

More than 1M US citizens have undocumented spouses + almost 5.5M US citizens have undocumented parents. Granting them parole is a good 1st step, but what we need is a path to citizenship or these families are still at risk of being victims of deportation.

This policy does nothing but cause harm, act as a boon to cartel networks, & undermine US border management. Pls read stories of brave people who shared their experiences w Human Rights First to understand why this, & similar deterrence-based policies are NOT the answer
