Our tour guides are excited for you to see the massive Iowa-class propellers! Walking under the screws and propellor shafts and understanding the true size is mind-boggling. Book your dry dock tour here: battleshipnewjersey.org/drydock/ #DryDockNJ
The key to keeping a dry dock dry is the caisson shown here in our latest Dry Dockuseries video! Once we entered dry dock and confirmed we were lined up on the blocks, the caisson was brought back and we could drain the dock. #DryDockNJ
Thank you again The Philadelphia Inquirer and Kevin Riordan for reporting on our dry dock maintenance and sharing testimonials of those who’ve gotten the chance to visit us!
The view at the end of the Holland Tunnel 🤩 In the coming weeks, we will be fleeting the ship. We’ll refloat and move her four feet forward then set her down once again to reach the areas under the keel blocks for painting and maintenance. #DryDockNJ
Thank you Kevin Riordan and the The Philadelphia Inquirer for reporting on our dry dock project, and the important maintenance work being done at Navy Yard Philadelphia. We look forward to reopening back at our pier in Camden soon!

Battleship New Jersey had 1,204 zinc anodes bolted to her hull to form her cathodic protection. They were designed to protect the ship from dissimilar metal corrosion by acting as a sacrificial anode and corroding in place of the hull over her years in active service. #DryDockNJ
This morning, we welcomed CAPT J.C. Thomas and the team from NSA Philadelphia to the dry dock! We’re thankful to Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg/Philadelphia who help keep the Navy Yard going strong. Battleship New Jersey is proud to welcome so many active duty sailors.
We are now offering dry dock tours the weekend of June 7, 8, and 9! If you’ve visited us in dry dock, don’t forget to tag us in your photos @battleshipnj! We love these reenactor photos from Lerro Photography #DryDockNJ
