Had a really lovely afternoon today scouting the biodiversity of Clonmel's grassy verges with clonmeltidytowns.

The Breac Maodhóg • The Speckled Shrine of Maodhóg
This c11th century reliquary features bronze plaques with wonderfully detailed figures of men and women, likely to represent saints or clerics.
It is associated with the monastery of Drumlane in Cavan. On display in National Museum of Ireland
Day 10 or 12 (?!) Castlepook cave excavations 2024 funded by Royal Irish Academy are going well as end is in sight. Working in very tight rifts in the cave, finding Pleistocene #IrishCaveBones & intact sediment (sampled). Ken Williams visited us a few times, his photos below 👇 #cave
