Saw a patient today who has a panc NET, a lymphoma and prostate cancer, all active. He will need 3 different PET studies, SSTR, FDG and PSMA. What are the chances I can convince his insurance company that all three are needed? 2 have already been done so maybe good chance of 3rd.

Important NANETS statement on palliative or hospice care for patients with any #NET ( #pheo #para included), especially those making hormones. Must treat the cancer & the hormones to properly care for the patient.

Presacral NETs remain a mystery to me. What is the original tissue of origin? Tailgut cysts? Some are related to the very rare Currarino syndrome. More info on tx outcomes here, including low recurrence rates following resection of localized disease.

Mutational landscape of the very lethal cervical NECs. Recurrent mutations were in PIK3CA, KMT2D/MLL2, K-RAS, ARID1A, NOTCH2, and RPL10. Some potentially targetable such as PIK3CA with combinations of drugs in 2 PDXs.
