Forty years ago the Republican pastor of the southern-baptist church we attended told every parishioner they were accountable to him if they were anything but kind to us-refugees and only black family in the church. Today Florida gov. gloats about leaving refugees on an island.

Of the many shitty things hard to imagine, up there is the politician who would use refugees to appeal to their base. As awful as Desantis and Abbott are, people had to vote them into office, give money to their campaigns, move jobs to the or states in support of their policies.
