What a difference a few degrees make! So relieved to see a massive increase in both numbers & activity. I was beginning to wonder had the Sand Martin abandoned the Wall & moved to a milder coastal colony. It can't be overstated how important weather/climate is to this species.

Try making a clay bee hotel for hairy-footed flower bees. It really seems to work: 3 residents so far :)

This long grass good for butterflies story is great. But I think it's worth pointing out that 'grass' is more than just grass. There are 160 species of grass in the UK. That compares to 57 resident species of Butterfly, or indeed 32 species of Trees (ignoring the microspecies).🧵
