Excavation works into the cause of a void found under the road surface on Notley Rd #Braintree suggest there is a water leak. Anglian Water will investigate further. A closure remains between Kenworthy Rd & Stone Close.

A section of Notley Rd #Braintree (between Kenworthy Rd & Stone Close) has been closed for safety while investigations into a void under the road surface is investigated.
Drivers will be required to use alternative routes. Follow for latest updates.

Duffill Bridge beam strengthening work has been successfully completed in Bicknacre, allowing the road to fully reopen to two way traffic on Westerings.

Queen Elizabeth Way #Colchester is closed 9.30 to 3.30 this week until 1 May while we seal joints & repair cracks in the road.
During closures we also plan to address other surface defects.
Resident access will be maintained, with normal traffic flows outside of these hours.

Last week, we carried out 232 pothole repairs, 112 of which were on priority roads and on 120 local roads. This is in addition to larger-scale resurfacing works which are currently taking place across the county

Winter gritting is now finished! Crews carried out 80 gritting runs and used over 10,000 tonnes of salt to keep roads ice-free and safe.

The county’s gritters will return for the 2024/25 winter season later this year. This starts in late October when temperatures begin to cool.

The surface dressing programme is well underway. This method extends the life of the road, providing a new skid resistant surface. We can also cover a large area in a relatively short period of time which helps reduce traffic disruption.
