The African Spoonbill 🌿
These birds can live up to 15 years and all in all are just an amazing, beautiful bird to see here at on iMfolozi.

What are some of your favourite birds of Zululand?

After a few rainy days on Hluhluwe, Monitor Julia came across a fling of Red-billed Oxpeckers having an early morning bath.

Oxpeckers are fascinating birds which share a mutualistic relationship with large herbivores. There is so much to see in the African bush. Join us!

The Wildlife ACT monitoring team on ManyoniGameReserve was very happy when they eventually came across this collared female Cheetah after spending the morning tracking her in the rain.

This female was of particular priority for the session, as she currently has young cubs.

As one of the Lionesses on ManyoniGameReserve demonstrated, sometimes Lions do climb trees!

This may be done to survey their surroundings or simply to catch a cooling breeze and escape the heat on the ground.

Spending time in the bush will always give you unforgettable moments!

The monitoring team on iMfolozi recently had a special sighting of a Ground Hornbill whilst out on a monitoring session.

With only an estimated 1500 individuals remaining in South Africa, it is always a privilege when we encounter these amazing birds when out in the field.
