This is so unscientific and dangerous. The cattle industry must not get public license to give avian influenza a different name. It is H5N1: bird flu. It has a record of transmission between birds & mammals, and that makes it a potential danger to many more animals, including us

This 'first look' seems more Al the more I look at it, though whatever's going on with the cub is certainly the most glaring signal. I guess they allocated effort and budget to match audience enthusiasm*

As a vulture researcher myself, I have come across so many incidents where people asked me to bring them bones, claws, beaks and even feathers of vultures for them. Poisoning is certainly one of the biggest threats, however there are many other threats endangering the vultures!

It gets so much worse, they're literally advocating for eco-terrorism by inciting people to release non-native zoo animals into the wild

I highly recommend anyone here who actually cares about animals to report this guy immediately

Critically Endangered subspecies were lost in less than 2 years. If killings continue, the remaining small population of the leopard in Hawf could be lost for ever.

I'm quite sceptical of these kinds of approaches, esp the 'de-extinction' approach from Colossal. Rather than high-tech, costly restorations, wouldn't it be much better to focus those ££ on maintaining wild habitat & existing #biodiversity ?

African penguins & other seabird species are headed for extinction if nothing is done urgently by both the South African and Namibian gov's. BirdLife South Africa 🇿🇦 is taking their gov to court over not effectively protecting the penguins' main prey - sardines. 1/
