I know all there is to know about European Works Councils (EWC) but I am at a complete loss to understand this. Maybe one of the employment law guys might care to comment? gov.uk/employment-appโ€ฆ

The BBC interviews a former boss of the Bank of England. Brexiteers do not like what he says and want him cancelled.

He obviously has not been reading the Sun, Mail, Express and Telegraph. What else have they ever done but create 'hysteria' and take an 'openly political stance'? But, of course, their fire was directed at the Left. That's OK, it would seem.

Redwood, along with countless others, states the problem but offers no hint of a viable solution. if refugees are intent on crossing the Channel to get to the UK then they will, no matter what the cost or dangers. How are they to be put off doing so?

Should members of Parliament not be required to say if they hold a second passport? Not allowed in Australia.

One of the newspapers should pick this up and publish a list of dual passport holders - not just Irish ones but obviously Irish one of the most interest as it allows holders to avoid 'Brexit Queues' at airports and gives them free movement. How many hypocrites are in Parliament?

Brexit as seen through Telegraph tinted glasses. I will leave it to others better qualified such as Robert Saunders to comment but Stanley's comparing Brexit to the French revolution and its consequences seems ludicrous to me. telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/10/3โ€ฆ

I see Gove said on TV this morning that Brexit had been good for Britain. Maybe he should have read this first. thetimes.co.uk/article/brexitโ€ฆ

Desperate Dan still living the Brexit dream: unilaterally cut tariffs; scrap all EU laws; go to (trade) war over NI. The Peter Pan of Brexit. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/โ€ฆ

Excellent from Chris. One point. If and when Starmer becomes PM and begins to soften on relations with the EU, he can do so in the knowledge that he will not be torn asunder by his own party and, hopefully, the Tories will be irrelevant. At that point, the tabloids can be ignored

Is this not a sign of madness? Doing the same thing to stem small boat immigration except with 'more ambition'. It won't work. The French beaches are just too big to patrol constantly. Open a processing centre in France. Think outside the Brexit box. theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/oโ€ฆ

A pretty honest analysis of where the UK is. Maybe it might help if the gov moved to eliminate recently erected trade barriers with Europe to push growth. But for a gov that believes in free trade, for some unknown reason, that option seems to be ruled out.

It would appear that Brexit will 'never be done' as the UK simply does not have the necessary admin resources. It is not even able to run customs checks at its EU border. And Labour thinks it can make Brexit 'work'! ft.com/content/ec7142โ€ฆ
