I found a few bunches of Purple Saxifrage still out in the Angus Glens over the weekend. #wildflowerhour
The first arctic-alpine flowers of the year are still in full bloom in Corrie Sharroch, Angus, as the snow retreats from the high-altitude botanical hotspots: Purple #Saxifrage (Saxifraga oppositifolia) & Downy #Willow (Salix lapponum). #WildflowerHour
Signs of spring in the mountains - the bizarre bulbous shoots of Roseroot, poking out from a crack in a rock face!
A member of the stonecrop family, it will develop bright yellow clusters of flowers that adorn crags and gullies. #wildflowerhour

Purple Saxifrage on Stob Binnein, Perthshire! One of our earliest flowering mountain plants, and in my opinion one of the best! Every spring I fall in love with it all over again 😍
