I was honoured to be voted #19 in last year’s Top 100 Most Influential Urbanists Past & Present. I’ve been reminded lately tho, of past urbanists that influenced MY career, including William H Whyte, Kevin Lynch, Jane Jacobs, Allan Jacobs & Jan Gehl.

Brent Toderian I think Zurich is underrated. I really enjoyed visiting there, but it’s often overlooked by travellers going to Alpine communities at higher elevations, and it’s not big enough to be thought of in the same breath as Berlin/Paris/London…
Brent Toderian I would say… Milwaukee in the States. And agreed about Sacramento, it’s a bit of a secret… and maybe Denver but it gets a fair amount of credit.
Speaking of William H Whyte & inspiring, influential urbanists, this is one of several books I currently have on the go, and I’m very much enjoying it. “American Urbanist.” He was a huge influence on my early downtown revitalization work. Worthy addition to the #UrbanismBookClub .
