Some 1,500 years ago, a child was buried with a set of game pieces made of animal bones. Single game pieces are frequently found in early medieval graves in south-west Germany, but complete sets are rare.
Found in Herbolzheim, 500-550 AD.

Harpoons made from reindeer antlers were invented in the Paleolithic period and were used to hunt fish. The harpoons were not attached firmly to a wooden shaft. After a successful throw/thrust, they separated from the shaft, but remained linked to the hunter by an attached line

A masterpiece of Minoan art.

This small rock crystal vessel is a work of technical and artistic perfection created by a skilled artisan some 3,500 years ago!
