The Tory pension policy is incredibly expensive, and to little effect since as the state pension will still count towards the income tax threshold most people will barely notice anything at all.
It's misinformation to gloss it as 'not paying income tax on their pension'.

Tories WON'T ensure pensioners 'don't pay income tax on their pension'. They're saying the threshold will stay higher than the state pension. It will STILL COUNT TOWARDS THE THRESHOLD. Pensioners will still be taxed on everything above it even a tiny private/work pension. #wato
