New paper out with Parul Johri and Jeff Jensen in Evolution Journal, evaluating the power we have to detect recurrent selective sweeps using composite likelihood and linkage based methods. (Free-to-view for a week as its an Editor's Choice). academic.oup.com/evolut/advance…

Taken together, our results suggest that caution is required when performing sweep inference. Modeling the persistent population genetic processes using simulation will improve our ability to detect episodic forces, but even then sweep detection can prove challenging.
