How many years will we see articles on the importance of null findings not being published?; how many times will we see specialist repositories as a potential solution?; how many times will we see the irony of such pieces highlighted by Nature?

Why the renewed vigour about Trieste? Is there funding for it?

Having to relive this renewed interest from the professionals every few years for decades is getting rather tedious. The UK is not Trieste. The rest of Italy is not Trieste. CONTEXT is critical here.

Sometimes there’s reason to despair in this world, but I just met an oversized double bike-buggy on the cycle way. On closer inspection, the cyclist was an older gentleman with two elderly ladies riding pillion from the local care home

Call me naive, but I also think Labour will find there are votes to be had in doing and saying the right things. I sense this country yearns for moral leadership.

I say this because I am sometimes tired of hearing of the 'ethos' of EIP 'not to diagnose'. I completely agree that diagnoses should be thought through, taking the time needed, not rushed. Clinical dilemmas need to be acknowledged.

“The true cost of being a doctor is not measured just in pounds & pence but in the emotional strain & the level of responsibility, in situations of life & death. Today’s applicants to medical school are our future. If we want them to take care of us, we need to look after them.”

Survey is highly problematic- avoids core issues of concern by tightly constraining replies - not learnt the lesson of RCP- gmc fighting for its existence and doesn’t even realise it

Improving cognition in schizophrenia is linked to a delicate balance of D1 -D2 modulation ✅

First principles again 👇

👉PFC cognitive aspects rely on D1 and Alpha2A optimum tone.

👉One can target these two receptors directly or indirectly

👉The diagram shows the modulation…

Guiding again today - we enjoyed some fantastic views of Turtle Doves this morning. At one point, we were surrounded by three purring Turtle Doves and a Nightingale singing, with a Cuckoo in the distance. Spring like it used to be sprung.

Practically every pic of a researcher with retractions has them in a white coat. It’s almost worth a study in its own right.

V interesting study from MEMENTO group

Variance in AD BBM concentrations mainly explained by age, with minor contributions from cognition/brain atrophy/genetics

'These results challenge use of blood biomarkers as isolated stand-alone biomarkers for AD'
