What logjam are they talking about? Nothings getting made right now.

My heart goes out to the writers, cast, and crews of both series. That sucks.

Well, there it is: NHC Eastern Pacific has officially issued a Tropical Storm Watch for SoCal. This is the first such watch ever issued for West Coast of United States.

Wind will be a concern, but severe flood risk from very heavy rain will be the much greater threat.

Let me translate this clearly:

Last Friday, the AMPTP countered WGA proposals.

Beginning this Tuesday, the WGA countered those counters (as opposed to just capitulating).

Tomorrow, the CEOs of the AMPTP companies will discuss the WGA’s counters.

This is called “negotiating.”

I can't ever recall a time when a showrunner wasn't frustrated by the writing staff budget and I don't know any showrunner who is delighted by losing his or her writers as he or she goes into production.

Next time, ask around, Variety.

Every time they leak an article like this, it makes us 5% more sure that the companies desperately want to gut staffs and we need to dig in deeper to protect them. Every one of these articles is a mini-Streisand effect.

Y’all know this isn’t true, right?

We are seeking a right to honor other unions’ picket lines, but that does *not* mean writers wouldn’t go back to work until SAG-AFTRA’s strike is resolved. That’s just studio propaganda that doesn’t even make any sense.

As we parse every syllable of multiple articles that claim to know the AMPTP’s bottom line, I’m begging us all to remember:

1) these articles are coming out the night before the WGA is reportedly responding to their offer
2) today we learned the AMPTP is hiring a PR firm
